We went in on the off chance looking for a pint and some food. Good atmosphere, a reasonable selection of ales including one named after the writer himself and cheerful staff. Staff suggested the chicken leek and tarragon pie. I went for that and my partner had the burger. Best pub grub we've had in a while. Looking forward to my next visit View all feedback.

Wow, tasteless cloudy beer combined with having to clear my own table and staff who didn’t give two hoots, how poor can service be? I even returned my pint, still 3/4 full to the bar and nobody cared as to why? Heaven forbid when you’re busy. Sorry I’m not a regular, maybe that is why? I do however live in Islington.
