The shelves were virtually empty. There were 6-10 assorted donuts scattered on different trays. These were obviously the runt donuts, the red-headed stepchild, rejected by earlier customers. We decided to rescue them. They were left over for a reason, probably the most tasteless now the stalest (obviously).
