Very nice meal in Margate: really enjoyed the cooking, especially the fresh fish dishes. Pork belly was great (if enormous) and the chicken starter also a success. The only downside was that we didn't have room for desserts. Two very minor things: don't put the real ale in a cold fridge; and maybe a decor update would help the restaurant match the quality of the food. But overall a hearty recommendation for anyone go... Food was not great. Very strange combinations that at times did not work. We are fans of indian fusion food and had high expectations but were let down by the Ambrette. Building also is tatty and décor inside is a mish mash with no ambience. Staff were not attentive and on one occasion very rude.
