I liked my visit to Piattino. It has a convenient location and makes great use of it. The atmosphere is compact and alive. There is a perfect mix between authenticity and modernization. Unfortunately I haven’t had the best experiences with the food at Piattino in Mendham. Many dishes have an unnecessary overwhelming grill sear, including the fried mozzarella. The meatballs are often undercooked in the center. Dishes frequently including unexpected spices creating an atypical flavor profile. Overall, I generally do not recommend Piattino. My favorite Italian bistro. Very interesting items. Not your basic nj gravy italian.
