Is it rude to say this place was cleaner than I expected? Because it was, lol. From what if read online I was braced for a dingy, if not gross, experience. While the women's room smelled due to the water from the faucet (a fault, I am sure, of the water table being low), the tavern was your run-of-the-mill dive, with clearly comfortable regulars, a juke box, a decent beer selection, and the ambiance one would expect...
