Always a great experience at the Alma, a true local pub. Food is great, on this occasion they had run out of their legendary fish and chips so I had the chilli instead, and I was not disappointed ! The pub is always busy which makes for a great ambience, as well as pub cat Pepe who graced us with his presence most of the evening. Gone down hill. I used to be a regular living a few years away. Returned with high expectations and was let down. The standard of the food has dropped dramatically. The previously famous burger was completely average. The chips in a cone that were also well know were also a let down. Half the quantity and as far as I can tell oven chips.
