The item is diverse with several Chinese staples but the stars of the show are their spicy and numbing Sichuan fare like dumplings in chilly oil, mapo tofu and boiling fish in chilli oil. My primary criterion for Sichuan food is the presence “ma” and “la” (chili heat and sichuan peppercorn numbing quality), and neither appeared in a dish of ma po tofu ordered on the return visit.
