"Food overall and service was great and affordable but we did have a slight issue with the gluten free options. due to dietary restrictions, we had to order the gluten free option for the french toast and were told the bread would be more dense. when it arrived, the gluten free option was significantly smaller but at the same price. when we asked for maybe one or two more slices, the waitress was incredibly understanding and helpful, but we were informed adding slices would increase the price. considering that the non-GF option was clearly a meal while the GF option more an appetiser, we were disappointed. we ended up ordering the chicken tikka masala GF instead which was really nice. we would recommend not offering a gluten-free option if the portion cannot be made equivalent to the regular version, but thank you to the waitress for her kindness! slight edit considering the response: we didn’t really insist on the french toast. since gluten free options aren’t indicated on the menu, we asked the waitress what is gluten free. we were told all dishes could be made gluten free except the pancakes, so my friend chose the french toast. she was told it would be « a bit less juicy » than the regular one, but accepted anyway. we did not touch the french toast plate before it was sent back. we did not really receive any recommendations on a suitable gluten free alternative (such as chicken tikka masala). we didn’t intend to trash talk this restaurant we enjoy, and our interaction with the waitress remained respectful and kind. it was purely an attempt at constructive criticism and the bitter response is a tough one to swallow."
