Midori Japanese Restaurant - Abbotsford

I really enjoy Sushi and when I saw Midori across from ICBC, I knew where I was going for lunch. The AYCE was $16 for lunch but did not include several items that were dinner only items (but not even expensive).The portions were very small for sashimi. 18 pieces were the size of 3 or 4 at other restaurants - see photo. A total of 6 pieces was the limit per person as well. For dessert of icecream you had a limit of one scoop the size of 2 tablespoons.Wonton soup appeared to be made as Gyoza, and the meat center disintegrated.The best item was the deep fried california roll.

Terrible customer service/quality of food. Noticed they screwed up our order as I got home. Called them back and claimed what they gave is what I ordered. Would not recommend.

I had tried other all you can eat Japanese Restaurants in Abbotsford(Dake Sushi) that are excellent but Midori does not live up to the same standards. The Sushi Chef should not be a Sushi Chef....The manner in which the rolls are made shows a lack of commitment to the customer. The length of time I waiting for Sushi & Tempura items was very lengthy. It was very busy when I arrived & numerous tables were dirty & waiting to be cleaned. I paid the $22.95 for all you can eat Sushi & Hot Items but when you look at the pictures on the menu card,some items just do not look appealing. Next time in Abbotsford I will be going back to Dake Sushi.

Whether it's all you can eat, or a meal you're ordering, the quality of the food has suffered greatly. The cost has gone up and more items added to the all you can eat menu. But the fish is not fresh, too many items are being made way ahead of time and sit all day waiting for someone to order it. You can taste that. It's not worth the money. And why, oh why, is the floor always sticky?! We used to be regulars but since it's been taken over, we've attempted to eat there half a dozen times with nothing but sheer disappointment being served.

This is I go to eat sushi. If you love sushi, this is the place for you. You can have all you can eat meals for lunch and dinner as well as using a regular menu. They have a great variety of sushi. Also a great variety of hot cooked food. You won't regret coming here.
