I'm sure this cafe used to be the Washington, but it is now called the Promenade cafe. Anyway, we just wanted a light lunch so opted for the home made soup. One lentil and one Chicken broth. Both were really excellent and not expensive. They were very obviously home made on the premises. Service was prompt and friendly. View all feedback.
What GoPlaces490094 doesn't like about Washington Cafe:
The restaurant is unable to make a good cappuccino or latte, the drinks were lukewarm and when asked to make them hotter, they came back too strong. The chips were awful with a strange taste, like old oil. The service is slow and inefficient. The restroom is dirty, with an old hand dryer that doesn't work well and a water machine that dispenses water that is too hot. View all feedback.
Although the place looks small, I actually managed to negotiate my way to a table in my wheelchair. The service came promptly and with a smile. The prices were very reasonable. The food came and was very good, plenty of product in my wrap and the panini is went down well too, and we shared a yummy bucket of fries. All in all this place looks like it needs a make over, however, if that means the prices would have to go up then its fine as it is. Would rate this miles above the other Branded food eateries that are down at the seafront.

I was walking along the beach promenade on Sunday afternoon and expected to be eating in the town centre, but there was a blackboard outside which promised mince, tatties and skirlie, which sounded really appealing on a cold day. That was what I had, and it was a very generous portion on a big plate, which I struggled to finish, but it was worth it. I was perfectly happy with the standard of service and the politeness of staff. It made me think I should explore more of the beach cafes.
Now called the Promenade Cafe, ate here as got lost in Aberdeen and were running out of time and patience! Small menu but well cooked. We ordered a house burger from the specials board, cheese and ham panini, chicken Caesar salad and poached eggs and bacon. All was delivered in short time despite being busy and was of good portion size. Staff were friendly and we took some sweet treats away with us for later. The Gypsy cream biscuit was really good. Nice place just good do with sprucing up.
Unfortunately, we only had the opportunity to get takeout ice cream from this restaurant. We regret not dining in here instead of going to Fridays down the road. The restaurant has seating both inside and outside, with welcoming and skilled staff and a diverse menu. The ice cream had delicious flavors and was expertly crafted.
