The Old Place Cornell Winery

I wanted to like this place. I heard good things. I even did a six mile hike before hand and even being exhausted and hungry. This place fell flat. First of all 18% automatic gratuity for every order. That’s ridiculous. Just include it in your price. Secondly, the food was meh to bad. I ordered the cinnamon rolls which is three medium rolls. The frosting was dull. Cinnabon is cheaper and better. I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich and it was dry. There was an effort to put aioli on the bread but the spread job was awful. The wedges are plentiful but forgetful. I ordered a glass of wine and it was a short one. All in all it was $67 for all that. Save yourself the hassle of finding parking, a seat outside, and the money. Why is there automatic gratuity? I did all the cleanup and had to pick up my order. First time visit rode my harley after a soccer game was starving. Good chicken cooked and seasoned well i have culinary experience greens salad and dressing was nice wish they would toss it for you its impossible to mix afterwards. Server at the widow was nice and friendly to me me but i did catch an argument between her and the customer in front of me. Over a standard gratuity charge of 20% Details at end Great ambiance a little hot but good amount of shade and umbrellas theres another wine shop next door Cornell? They have some drinks cheese and wine! It seems like they share the outdoor spaces first come first served They serve ice cups for a water fountain thats fine with me i didnt ask if they served bottled water and she did not offer, they do have mimosas and sodas I only had three people in front of me and my food came in about 20-25 min. Got a table and ate drank my bottle of wine from next door and chilled talked to local and tourists PS the line got really long soon after i ordered So now more about the little argument the customer was not happy bc they charge a mandatory gratuity this is posted on a sign above the window so apparently he realized after paying and didnt feel like the take out window service did merit a tip and stated it was principal i agree but after tou paid to ask for it refunded is a bit laim however the server clearly voiced her dismay rudley and attempted to refuse to refund his tip and suggested he call his bank then told him not to ever come. Back IMO customer was a bit rude but no bad language and stated again the principal as the cashier who was nice to me and others there could have handled it better. i also opted for a 20% tip on my bill and did not take a receipt so i am honestly wondering if i paid 40% gratuity their standard plus my actual gratuity of 20% im a business owner happy employees make happy companies but happy customers keep you in business!

NEVER AGAIN!!! Where do I start.... This place is extremely dirty. There are rats running around, flys everywhere. Very overpriced. $16 for a baked potato that wasn't even cooked right. They charge an automatic 20% gratuity even though you stand in line to order and pick up your food when it's ready. Management is also very rude. Totally ridiculous!!!

An amazing Jewel great food great service portions are large . Service is fantastic be aware it is kind of a bar setting

Good, wholesome food without any fancy, very pricey. Great service and care, Dave is real friendly and welcoming. The inside feels very cosy but unfortunately loud.
