Il Vicino Wood Oven Pizza - Albuquerque

I’m unsure whether honey is still used in all their crusts. My boss visited this location to get a pizza for a meeting and was told that the gluten-free crust was vegan. I had my doubts, so I called to verify, and the person on the phone informed me that nothing is vegan and they don’t even offer vegan cheese. I then emailed the location and received a different response: they do have vegan cheese, but the gluten-free crust is not vegan, although other crust options are. That’s three conflicting answers with no apologies for the confusion (I could have had a serious reaction if I had eaten that crust) and no assurance that the staff would be updated on the correct information. I just can’t trust it.

I want to start by saying that I initially thought this restaurant had no vegan options at all. The regular menu certainly doesn't make it seem very vegan-friendly. However, after calling the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that their regular pizza crust is vegan, and they also offer vegan cheese and vegan sausage. The online ordering system for pickup and delivery is much easier when it comes to making vegan substitutions. You do need to select a non-vegan pizza option and then modify it to make it vegan. While the menu could be more accommodating for those with dietary restrictions, I'm just really excited to discover another place in town that offers vegan food and has convenient business hours. So let me start by saying that I didn't think this restaurant had any vegan options. her regular menu does not make this place even vegan friendly. but after I called the restaurant, I was happy to learn their regular pizza crust vegan, and they also offer vegan cheese and vegan sausage. their online order for pickup/delivery is much more friendly for ordering with vegan substitutions. they need to choose a non-vegan pizza option and change them to be vegan. the menu could be improved for people with food restrictions, but hey I'm just excited to know from another place in the city with vegan eating that has no terrible business times. updated by previous review on 2022-04-01

This restaurant is great for groups. The staff was very accommodating and seated us on the enclosed terrace, which was beautifully illuminated with plenty of warm lights. (A few thoughts...)
