it is mainly local food and we really enjoyed the traditional environment. they must cross the river with the ferry to get to this part of lissabon. we ordered the large shaders of seafood to share with lobster, mush and garnel. it comes on a huge owalen dish with tasty sauce and brot to mix it all up. a delicious bottle of wine. We choose this restaurant according reviews on TripAdvisor. Nobody inside at 19:00 except obviously very bored waiters. Restaurant and equipment very old, even cutlery and plates worn out. When we took a place a waiter quite pushed us to choose something, but we need more time because menu was quite long. He came back every minute and stay at the table and looked at us. If you like sea food; crabs, lobster, clams, tiger prawns etc and wish to try local fish dishes, this is a really good place to go. Very popular, very busy, prepare yourself to wait for a table to be vacant (10-20 mins) if you have not booked in advance. This place has lots of Portuguese style character. Enjoy it.
We only knew about this place because a friend had lived in Lisbon for some years and told us about it. Yes, it means crossing the river but it only costs a few euros and takes 10 minutes plus you get views!. There are one or two meat dishes but really it is all about the fish and shellfish. Note that the English menu does not include some of what is in the chiller cabinet so remember to have a good look in it before you order. Not a great deal of English is spoken in the restaurant so be prepared to point and use whatever Portuguese you have. We had some wonderful clams, followed by grilled squid and their fish rice dish, all very good. We were the only non-locals in a very busy, busy restaurant.
Estava tão bom que só a meio é que me lembrei de tirar a fotografia. Comida com muito boa qualidade e com grande variedade. Os empregados são muito atenciosos/simpáticos. Sem dúvida é um restaurante a voltar. Os preços são um pouco mais elevados do que a média, mas a qualidade compensa 100% Nota: foi pedido choco grelhado sem tinta e arroz de tamboril c/ camarão
If you are looking for a real fish restaurant you should visit this place. Crew is cheerful, care and also good advisor to make a decision. We ordered monk fish rice and it was delicious if you are spicy person you should ask for pepper sauce they have. In the starters you should try the goat cheese. And after the fish if you are willing to honor your palate order farofias. Bon appetite!
Great local restaurant, good prices, good food the bacalhau was supreme!
