We had an amazing experience at this restaurant for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. My friend and I decided to try this restaurant while I have a nice weekend and it was such a fun experience. Unknown for us was the ice festival of the Alpena and the city was busy. We arrived without reservation and were kindly told it would be a 30-40 minutes waiting. Now we had waited patiently for at least 40 minutes to stand at the door while the people came and some were not interested in waiting while others (smarter) had reservations; then a few chairs opened at the bar and we decided to sit there the rest of the evening and we are glad that we did. A couple to the left had waited a bit for a table there, and just when our food came out, the couple finally sat. It was very busy, but the relaxed ambience at the bar just fit us well, we enjoyed the food very much and our server / bartender Kelly was very appreciated as she was very busy in her job to keep our glasses full, asking if we needed something else and she was very friendly. Both meals have been carefully prepared, we have ordered and that in itself is a great compliment! I would highly recommend to go to this Ristorante only one FYI if you want to make reservations if there is a local event. Thanks again for Kelly and staff for a nice evening!

The garlic bread was also a highlight, with thick slices of crispy French bread topped with garlic butter. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I highly recommend.
This restaurant is one of a kind and welcoming. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly!!! We started with delicious bread and generous beer samples, followed by an incredible meal. I ordered the Scallops Risotto, which was outstanding!!! The meal was topped off with a phenomenal homemade dessert... a chocolate peanut butter cake. Our waiter found out it was our anniversary and treated us to the dessert for free! Highly recommended and we will definitely come back if we are in the area again!!!
The food and drinks at this restaurant were amazing, and our server, Evan, provided top-notch service. He truly deserves 5 stars.
A friend told me I hadn’t lived if I had never had the garlic bread from The Courtyard. She wasn’t wrong! It was a lovely dinner destination. Fresh greens, great flavor on the steak, and of course, the garlic bread! Without the recommendation from my friend, I may not have stopped just simply driving by. So glad I was able to sample a fabulous local gem.
