Last Saturday we had a wonderful dinner at Duchess. We came with 8 persons and we were pleasantly surprised with a very nice round table. The staff made us feel very welcome and was very attentive.The food was of Michelin star quality and the wine the manager recommended was just outstanding. What Joël van den Berg doesn't like about THE DUCHESS:
Not Michelen star service. Waiters are polite but totally not personal touch. No wine recommendations. Glass empty and no offer of new wine. All running around with too loud music. I have had so much more better service in cheaper places. Food is fine. Mash potatoes very disappointing. Wine is not poured at the table ?? View all feedback.

Some of the dishes like the pistachio pasta dish was a bit underwhelming but in general the food was quite good!

Good service, good ambiance and fine food. We had a pleasant and good hostess serving us! We really enjoyed every bite we took. Although I have to say the portions could have been bigger pricewise.. The linguine cacia e pepe is excellent, but €16, for 3 bites each I think is overrated, being a dish of simple ingredients. After dinner we went to the bar to have a cocktail. Really nice guy who asked as what we liked and improvised something according to our own taste. He did a great job! Thank you for the experience and nice evening!
From the atmosphere to the great service and tasty food, The Duchess is a great experience. The Royal Beef tartar is amazing, beef Wellington really good. Several wines to choose from, to accommodate every budget or taste. Highly recommended
