What Becky Davis doesn't like about Les Pêcheurs:
a conventional but friendly setting, a professional reception and worthy of a 1-star restaurant, despite some let go on the service assistants (stagiaire)? the benefit is pretty good overall. On the other hand, the entrance, the wine and the dessert were perfect, however, the meat was not at all ... but then not at all at the height of a gastro! as to the sanitary, a regular passage of the cleaning services would be... Fantastic restaurant. Excellent food, brilliant service. We were delighted with everything and look forward to returning.
This restaurant have everything you expect from a Michelin star restaurant. The food is great, the service is impeccable but still friendly and the setting is lovely. We skipped the menus and ate a la carte so that everyone could have what they wanted. Do not skip dessert if you do the same. They are exquisite!Try to get a table as close to the water as possible since it increases the fabulous sunset.
Incredible food, service, view and ambience. The 6 course menu was just incredible, this place certainly derserves its stars and incredible reputation. First time I have seen a fish trolley - but the food was the showstopper- and the menu perfectly paced.
A wonderful position looking out over the bay and a perfectly wonderful dinner. I chose the menu de degustation at 125 euros, which with extra courses and the amuse bouche it was quite a meal! Every course was excellently presented and cooked to perfection and the service was professional and attentive as you would expect at Michelin star level. Some of the courses are plated at table, which is wonderful to watch - I love watching waiters who really know their stuff, as it's such an art in its own right. The foie gras in the broth was the most memorable thing in the meal - utter perfection. My only criticism is that I think the portions were every so slightly too large - after 9 courses in total I was feeling very full indeed! Also remember to take cash for the tip, as I didn't have any and they strangely only accept tips in cash, which was a little embarrassing and unfortunate for the waiting staff.
The continental breakfast (included in my room rate) was laughable. 1 small round table with a few fruits, some juices and cheeses - hardly what I could call a breakfast. The "deluxe room" doesn't even have a floor to ceiling coverage for the bathroom so steam from your shower penetrates the bedroom. The biggest disappointment for me is Les Pecheurs, the restaurant with a supposed Michelin star (or guide) - I'm not one for Michelin star dining but this place is pompous and the food and service is terrible. All we wanted was a small dinner and this was the only place available to eat without leaving the hotel after we checked in at 7:30 pm. We walked into the restaurant, which was completely empty and were shown to the worst possible table by the till (no where near a window) - when I requested to move, I was told all the other tables were reserved which I could not believe given the place was empty. The starter was unmemorable and I had ordered the duck for main which was more than well done when I had ordered medium - the restaurant director (Angelo -) was adamant the duck was medium and at first refused to take the food back. While my partner finished her food which I had to share I waited for the duck to return. Upon return it was only mildly less well done than it was before and he had the audacity to say this is what medium is in France - Regardless of my culinary expertise or his, the way he spoke to me was unacceptable and completely ruined our trip to this hotel. Angelo denied us a good table and then argued with us about the food. After we were finished, the restaurant still had at least two other tables which were vacant and we would have preferred to sit in - I strongly don't believe every other person in there had booked a specific table and can only put Angelo's treatment for us down to the colour of our skin.
