We enjoyed a delicious early dinner at The Market Place on a Friday night after Thanksgiving. The Grouper was huge, grilled perfectly, and surrounded by a vegetable medley that included tomatoes and cooked spinach with something like couscous. The grilled Quail was cooked perfectly and complimented with nice sides. The kale fritters were a filling starter along with the Market Place salad. Service was excellent. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Market Place:
No gluten free menu. No kids menu. Not the spot to visit, if you’re anticipating a luxurious dinner with family. The ambiance was lacking as the decor was dated and lighting too bright. View all feedback.
Once we had set ourselves, the server informed us that the kitchen was hurled with a 24 person order and that the things were behind and slow. what a good opportunity to start a quiet romantic evening with a party of 2! we could say that the server was pulled by a big table next to us and was a bit french, so we just kept it. ordered brot, pommes and salate. he tried to order the crispy garnels, but he said he should keep away from it. said it wasn't so good and you only get 3 pieces. what? we ordered a cocktail, but after we see them sitting on the bar for 10 minutes, we didn't order anymore. I was trying to get up and bring her to our table, but my wife said that was rude. Anyway, the limited food we had was good, but the mood and the service were not. we will not be back. too many other good opportunities in the
Eating was not as good as expected. we sat on the bar and service and the drinks were both lovely. wonderful cocktails prepared by a very beautiful man.
We visit asheville for a small holiday. determined to eat at the marketplace for a nice dinner. I got the quail and bf got the special, that was fish. Both were great. the portions were also very nice for the price. our server was also very friendly.
Pleasant environment, waiting staff attentive, creative menu
Definitely missed the mark. Host was cold and server was even colder. We drove 5 hours for an anniversary weekend.
