Contribute FeedbackTupelo Honey offers a mixed culinary experience that reflects its Southern roots, drawing both praise and disappointment from visitors. While the restaurant delights some with its crispy fried chicken, flavorful Brussels sprouts, and standout appetizers like fried green tomatoes and tofu wings, others find the menu lacking, particularly in vegan options. Service is noted as friendly and accommodating despite occasional slowdowns. Desserts like the banana pudding receive accolades, and the inviting atmosphere attracts diners, especially during peak hours. Overall, Tupelo Honey presents a lively dining destination, though some diners suggest exploring Asheville’s diverse food scene before returning.
The only option that was listed as vegan on the menu had seen in it (which fortunately the server knew that I had an salat and brussels sprout. there is no reason to eat here with all the other places within few blocks that actually have vegan options. updated by previous review on 2022-04-13
Everything is fresh. they need to ask if they can make certain items vegan. baked green tomatoes were very fresh. please, no grottos/Polenta. we had the garden bowls and nothing was frozen or from a dose. it was really farm to gabel.
I understand you're in asheville and want to be vegan. they are not, their server have no idea whether there is something milk or eggs or not and are customers with regard to them. Please offer them a little more than a breast dish, they have so much potential and the sweetest location of the world. I was on other places and experienced the same situation.
Extremely limited decisions, especially given its popularity and asheville location. bohnenburger is not vegan. drilling the veggie plate and the tofu wing from the app menu is it. slower service. so manny better vegan options in asheville!
I am vegan and gf is vegetarian. We both enjoyed it very much. Not as many options for vegans, but the black bean burger was great. It was handmade, not a frozen patty. Greens and black eyed peas were good too. She loved the biscuits that came out first. Good local beers too. It was kinda dark where we sat, and loud but not a deal breaker.
