Some have been extremely disappointed with their experience, citing issues such as empty mussels, long wait times, forgetful wait staff, and overpriced dishes. Others, however, have had a much more positive experience, praising the fresh and well-prepared seafood dishes, friendly staff, and clean dining area. Despite some drawbacks such as noisy surroundings and overly cold air conditioning, many customers still recommend this restaurant for its delicious food at a reasonable price. Ultimately, your experience at the Bell-Buoy may vary depending on the time of year and day of the week, but it seems overall the quality of the food and service is worth a visit.
We had the salmon...prepared two ways. Both were less than mediocre. Not really much to see out the pan-am windows.
Very clean restaurant but a bit pricy for what you get. Friendly staff and very efficient. Busy spot for sure.
I was on my last day on Cape Breton and never had any lobster yet. Ordered a lobster sandwich $20. It was tasty enough but my goodness $20 for a sandwich? I found everything in this tourist trap of Baddeck to be overpriced and underwhelming. Personally never be back.
We started our Cape Breton trip with the intent of trying chowders at all locations. The Fish Chowder was alright and I'd order it again. My Coquille St Jacques was amazing, and my husband' fried shrimp were fine. We will definitely return when visiting Baddeck.
We went for lunch. The wait was a bit long but not the hostess or waitress told us it could be longer than usual. Found it was a bit overpriced for the portions we receive. Terrific location though.
