I really enjoyed the take away meal we ordered from the Lake of China... really delicious curry prawns, great fried rice and good service. I'll definitely go back here again. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lake Of China Chinese Restaurant:
I took 14 people for their so called smorgasbord, it was dark, no music, cold, not enough food, we asked if we could have more spring rolls they told us to buy our own.No-one smiled, just made sure their take away's were a priority.Would never go back - that was $400 wasted when we could have done so, so much better anywhere else in Bairnsdale, but there. Faster service and great help in a spacious restaurant. there are vegetarian fried noodles, soup noodles, fried rice.
Have never been served such a course in any Chines Restaurant. It was simply a lettuce leaf with a mixture of vegetables with some sort of gravy poured over the top. The taste was not something that you would write home about. Just avoid this course, because the service was excellent and the remainder of the meal was quite good
Perfect and delicious everytime, with top notch very friendly professional customer service. EXCELLENCE ALL ROUND
It was lovely to sit in after such a long time since Covid-19. Food is always tasty if you eat in. I find the takeaway tends to be thrown together and tastes the same with no differentiation in the sauce bases. Much prefer sit down and find it is much better in taste. Staff are always nice. It could do with a decor update, it is quite dated.
Our table of 12 took away an average to low opinion of the food. My scallops and veg was good, nothing amazing but good, as was my hot and sour soup. The calamari entree was ordered by several on the table and even I was mortified for them a bit dramatic but its a simple dish right it was manufactured rings from a packet, in a bright orange crumb and for fake it was costly at $12 and was not worth the crunch time. It was left on the table. The chicken in batter honey chicken brought no chicken with it. Even when pulled apart it was hard to find a trace of any chook in there, just batter, Kentucky would probably do better with pop corn chicken. Sorry for the bad review, I haven't done one in 14 years but it seemed they did not achieve restaurant standard at all with some of the dishes and the rest was just mediocre.
