We booked a large table for lunch at fairly short notice, and the staff were very accommodating. Help and suggestions were offered before we asked, and there was a wide range of meals to suit all tastes. The food was nicely presented and the servings were generous. My duck was beautifully cooked, and my partner's chicken was also delicious. Drink prices were also reasonable. Definitely a pub to come back to. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about City Oval Hotel:
On driving past we saw as ad for fresh oysters for Friday, so after seeing the Yacht club was full went back for lunch. The oysters were only Kilpatrick and a bit expensive. The atmosphere was quite good and the tables set well. I don't know when the meal you order gets written down or how its passed to the chef but its easy to not get your meal like us, after waiting and waiting we finally got the entree of steamed... I'm still at this hotel and I must say it is very clean, elegant, and sophisticated. The use of technology is impressive. It's comfortable to stay here with beautiful views to wake up to. The quality of toiletries is amazing. The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to get to most places. There are many restaurants just minutes away from the hotel.
We were very satisfied with the large portions of food that filled us up after a day of sightseeing in the town. Despite the restaurant having a sign stating they were short-staffed, it was hard to notice any impact on our dining experience. We placed our order at the bar and the food was promptly brought out by friendly staff. Even as the restaurant got busier, the food still arrived in a timely manner. The only delay was with my cocktail, but it was delicious and well worth the extra wait.
Awesome service, clean and very welcoming, and the meals desserts were fresh, tasty and well proportioned too. We’ll be back!!
Although the cocktails could use some improvement, we had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The staff was excellent and the pumpkin soup was outstanding.
Amazing food, healthy and tasty. In front of the beach!! Everything taste good here ! I recommend!
