I have been to Platform One several times, usually to celebrate a birthday, something that needs a bit more. It's easy to book, park and the restaurant experience is very good. View all feedback.
What Majvor Bengtsson doesn't like about Platform One:
Great range of beers on tap some of which are brewed in house. The burgers are huge like too big to place in ones mouth big. Onion rings are amazing! I had a Rueben which was quite nice but still took half home. Not my favourite burger spot but would definitely come back and love to try all their beers! View all feedback.
A lovely setting for an afternoon out. We had booked for around 10 people for a birthday on this occasion. We were quickly seated and ordering food in a matter of minutes. The Greenfield Station Bistro has a wide variety of dishes on offer. We settled on the Chicken Wings, Cheesy Pizza, Thai Green Curry, Scotch Fillet and Salt and Pepper Squid. The entrees were out quite quickly. As soon as we took them back to our table the buzzer was going off again for our mains. The main sizes we thought were quite small. The Scotch Fillet was as big as your palm and the Thai Green Curry was majority prawns and rice. The Salt and Pepper Squid though was a decent serving. It came with a dozen pieces of Squid which covered a large bowl of chips. Overall we had a good time. I would definitely recommend experiencing the themes of the restaurants on offer at Bankstown Sports Club at least once. We may visit again but not for a while.
Came here one morning for the buffet breakfast. Had most of what u expected. For $24, you get what you pay for. Far from gourmet dining experience but all in all good if you feel like stuffing yourself in the morning.
One of the cool restaurants inside the well regarded Bankstown sports! Ambience of an train station surely gave this bistro an exciting experience. We had the roast of the day, the station burger and a tuscany bruschetta and it was a lovely meal. I'd love to try their fine dining rooms soon!
We stayed overnight at the Travelodge Bankstown and included in the room rate was buffet breakfast at Greenfield Station Bistro. It is conveniently located near the lift which takes you up to the hotel. The atmosphere of the bistro is of being in at a train station (thus the name of the restaurant). The buffet breakfast offers made to order eggs (poached or fried) as well as the usual hot breakfast items like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, hash browns, mushrooms as well as cold items like fruit, pastries, and cereals. You can also make your own toast and have coffee from the coffee machine. There were also apple and orange juices on offer too. It was extensive enough to keep you happy without being over the top.
There's a certain grandeur to the usual hotel breakfast buffet this place offers. The high ceilings and archways that greet you into the railway themed open plan areas of Platform One Fine Dining and Greenfield Bistro are a sight. From the Departure boards, clocks and train carriages that act as private dining rooms, it's like stepping into a movie set. As for breakfasts for guests from the upstairs Travelodge suites, there are hot and cold options. It was impossible not to try everything - from the fluffy pancakes and james, to the freshly cut fruit and yoghurt to the usual hot breakfast with mushrooms and grilled tomato, fresh toast - so much to play with. They are also fresh baked pastries and lamingtons with a extra generous jam centre. One of the more memorable hotel breakfasts I've had in a long time that's for sure.
