Chessie's Restaurant - Barrington

Have been to Chessie's with my wife on several occasions, but on this visit took her for mother's day with my son. Made reservation via open table . When we arrived they seated us immediately in my choice of table via the reservation which was nice. Upon taking our drink requests we were told that the kitchen was swamped and dinner orders might take some time. Ours did and while plates were good and hot food was not as hot and my wife's salmon plate was dry. This would not stop me from coming back, but when you know Mother's Day is coming you set up kitchen staff appropriately. Sorry but this should not be a surprise, particularly when you know what your reservation list is like and if you receive a lot of on-line orders you take care of your restaurant guests first! That is my humble opinion

The food was very good, however, some of the sauces were a bit starchy. The waitress was good at recommending alternate ideas when someone had food allergies. We were seated and served very quickly. It was nice to be able to have a conversation without it being too loud. The background music was enjoyable and just the right volume.

Will return, menu had something for everyone, service was good although a bit rushed at times. Good meal, good value, overall very good.

Not my cup of tea at all, maybe for a much older crowd. The food wasn't the greatest, was pretty down about it. The people were nice but not organized at all. We received the wrong meal, ordered an martini that ended up with blue cheese in the glass from the olives, and at the end the check was messed up and over charged, after a couple attempts to correct it, I was upset and still ended up paying for three meals even though there were only two of us. I was so upset I just paid the bill which was not all of mine and left. I don't like leaving bad reviews but this was not a place that deserved a good one.
