Some restaurants deserve 5 stars...and have just the wrong name.We eat there almost once a week and since the new owner, about two years ago ? has taken over:More and more business people discover this small but fine place.You will soon have to book for lunch time it 's full and offers every day a daily plat du jour , but also a la carte:Rumpsteak is delicious and veg fresh.No posh place:Everyboy is welcome and served with a smile.We love such places, because they are the proof that :Offering a decent and fine dish in a familiar atmosphere is a well running biz despite the crisis.We love places where people meet and all are welcome.We love the kitchen simple but made with love.And the owners kindness.In summer you can sit outside and even if it 's just near the tramway you feel a bit on holiday.

I ended up here just because is next door to the Ibis hotel and. what a great discovery! I had the best roesti in years, served by friendly staff and all for a very reasonable price. Even the coffee was good!

We were welcomed by our waitress and thoroughly enjoyed our meal in this pleasant restaurant which is handily close to the Ibis where we were staying. The ingredients of our meal were very fresh and beautifully cooked and presented. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed. Very good value as well.

Just over the road from the hotel ibis banhoff this little restaurant is just what you need after a long day out. Have a shower and pop over the road and you won't be disappointed. I had the spaghetti Gorgonzola. Yummy.

We've been staying at the Ibis Hotel Basel Bahnhof, we were really tired last night and needed dinner. Fell into Margarethen Stubli because it was right around the corner from the hotel. We didn't expect much, but it was really good. The owner (I guess) was really nice. I was craving some vegetables, and not expecting much salad (oh, boy, was I wrong) with my weiner schnitzel, I asked for a side of vegetables. It was a plateful of sauteed, mixed, well-seasoned vegetables, which the owner said later was on me. The weiner schnitzel was fine, the salads were plentiful and fine, the rosti my husband got was fine.
