Portobello's Grill Bocage Village

We adore Portobellos! The bread is fantastic! The service is always top-notch. Brennan is friendly and attentive, an excellent server.

We made reservations for New Year's Eve in advance. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Despite it being NYE, we tried to remain patient. Once we were seated, we found ourselves at a tiny table which made it difficult to fully enjoy our meal without the fear of something falling. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and the Gulf fish with pecan. The chicken parmigiana was juicy and tender. However, the Gulf fish with pecan lacked seasoning. Our waiter was exceptional, promptly taking our order and making recommendations from the menu.

I had a great experience with the food and service at the restaurant. However, my only complaint is that the music was too loud. Despite asking the waiter and hostess multiple times to lower the volume, it remained loud throughout the meal. As a result, it was difficult to hear the other members of my party seated across from me. While I appreciate good food, being able to have a conversation is also important to me.

I made a reservation for us at 5:30. When we arrived, there were very few people in the main dining room. However, the hostess was going to seat us in the bar area. I quickly said no. She said Oh, you want to sit in the main dining room? I was insulted that she would even consider showing us to a table in the bar area when there were so many tables available in the main dining room. Once before we tried to eat there, but had not made a reservation. The only tables available were the tables in the bar area. So why, this time, with a reservation, did she intend to sit us in the bar area?????

We had a lovely brunch on New Years Eve. Friendly, attentive staff and delicious appetizers and drinks.
