A nice German restaurant in a calm corner right in front of Arkonaplatz. Been there a number of times. Tried their Kalbsleber, Hirschbraten, and Schnitzel which were all good. The outdoor seating is great in summer, offering a soothing and calm feel. Service is OK, prices are bit high. View all feedback.
What Ohh K doesn't like about Alt-Berliner Kaffeestuben:
Low key place, German fare on par with what you will find in such restaurants- tasty but does not distinguish itself. Nice if you want a change of pace from the bustle on Kastanienallee. View all feedback.
We've eaten here a number of times this summer with a friend who also lives in the neighborhood. According to the locals, it's as good as Prater, but less expensive and you can get a table without a reservation. I had the schnitzl both times, and I will probably have it again next time. Brian had the mixed grilled meats and can tell you in his own words that it was awesome.
The food was superb. Fresh and fast. The staff was very nice. The only drawback was they only took cash.
