this was our third visit to the caffe for breakfast and this time we move from 4 to 5 stars. the service is fresh, young and smiling. eating is outside the normal league. we have tried so many of the different options and all are beautiful to look at, delicious to eat and fair in the price. the environment is the old berlin and the atmosphere is convincing. I give this place my warmest recommendation to the breakfast... View all feedback.
What Thilo Zimmermann doesn't like about Schwarzes Café:
slanted and very unobstructed ambiente - perhaps great for students. eat plentiful but not exceptional, especially for 18 euro for carving (a lot better price-performance ratio at the nearby savignyplatz or bleitrau street). in any case more a caffe than a restaurant. View all feedback.
Good cafe witch has loads of options for food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and the prices are good. There are gluten free options here as well. The food itself was okay, not great but also not bad. I would definitely recommend eating in the garden at the back during sunny days since it’s al lot quieter then in the front of the restaurant next to the busy road.
We stopped by the Café without a reservation on a Friday night, but got lucky and got a table after a 15min-wait. The atmosphere and the staff were like always very cozy and friendly. We ordered the tagliatelle with mushrooms and the Spinach Spätzle with cheese. The Spätzle was too greasy but all the same tasted good. For us the tagliatelle with mushrooms was the star of the night, it wasn't too rich but all the same a filling option for the night.
Before this place many times visited, this time we have tried an omelette with champignons and spectra, nothing to talk, it tasted more like a crepe than an omelette, a little expensive, service fast and with a smile, will not come back so early
The place can look small and creepy from the outside. but as a typical berliner location as soon as they enter the place, they are enchanted. comfortable and simple, without the usual chic magazine decoration, it shows a pretty rough atmosphere that reminds a harbour city., it has a beautiful courtyard with trees and small lighbulbs around the wooden fence. eating is delicious, geenrous and always delicately laid and arranged in their teller. service is fast and pleasant. everyone is very welcoming. I discovered this place today and intend to involve it in my regular spots!
We went to Schwarzes cafe twice during our holiday in Berlin. Their breakfasts are scrumptious. We had scrambled eggs with different flavors (mushroom, feta, tomatoes etc Combined with toast or bread roll they will keep you going until late afternoon. The fruit salad with yogurt...has so pretty presentation. I loved the attention to detail (food, service, presentation. Both times there were locals having breakfasts and we were all very well taken care of. The service is friendly and attentive. This place deserves a high rating.
