What User dislikes about Thao Thao Vietnamese Restaurant:
We have been here over the years but this will probably be the last time. The service was attentive and friendly but the food was the disappointment of the night. Entrees were delicious, and so were the deserts (few choices) but our mains were far below expectations. Many choices were battered - especially the seafood. We are in Australia visiting friends who we last met 2 years ago in Vietnam so we thought it appropriate to try some Vietnamese food again. Nga's didn't disappoint with lots of authentic dishes both on the menu and the specials board. Nga the owner was there and along with her staff made us all feel very welcome and there service was fast and efficient. BYOB is allowed with small corkage charge but wines on menu start at a very reasonable A$17. Good selection of both local and Asian beers also available. Obviously a popular place as it was quite busy for a Wednesday night. We liked it.
Pretty good, quiet place for both dine in and takeaways. Prices ok. Although it's essentially Vietnamese they do other cuisines as well. Personal touch with owner most often being there.
Have been here loads of times, service is always amazing. Friendly, helpful staff. Food is always good, fresh and delicious. Would recommend.
We have been here over the years but this will probably be the last time. The service was attentive and friendly but the food was the disappointment of the night. Entrees were delicious, and so were the deserts (few choices) but our mains were far below expectations. Many choices were battered - especially the seafood. I chose duck in tamarind sauce- no mention of batter. When it arrived it consisted of thin slices of overcooked duck in dark batter. By removing the batter I was left with stringy chewy meat, a few pieces of carrot and raw onion. Dessert saved the day. On a Friday evening the room was only a quarter full when previously it has been booked out. Hopefully the chef will get back on track.
