The Roof Garden At The Peninsula Beverly Hills

We were celebrating my daughter’s bday, so I decided to try this place. I originally wanted to try the French restaurant, but they were closed. So, we settled for the Roof Garden thinking it would be nice to eat outdoors with a view of Beverly Hills. However, we should’ve turned around and left. There was a group of three in a near by table using bad language and yelling the whole time we were there. So much for a quiet evening in an elegant place. The ambiance was ruined by those rude vulgar people. I didn’t want our evening to be ruined, so I decided to stay and I to order drinks. My mojito was sour. The server was kind enough to bring me some sweetener. My daughter did not like her drink either. I had a grilled shrimp salad. The shrimp were very good. HOWEVER, the salad was drenched with salt! It was so salty, I had to drink about two gallons of water to get it out of my system. It was terrible! I have dined in many places, both humble and luxurious, including the Montage, Langham and several Michelin star restaurants. The Roof Garden was the worst meal I have ever had in my entire life! The food was ok. Nothing special—and over priced! I don’t mind paying top dollar, but the food needs to merit it. I am VERY disappointed. I hope someone at the Peninsula reads this and offers me a rain check or some kind of reimbursement. That’s the least they can do. Thank you
