We came to eat “Chäsbängel“ at the X-Mas market booth of Zihlmann in the heart of Basle. All service personnel was very friendly, helpful and fast. Chäsbängel, which is a Swiss cheese fondue in a bread (similar to a Hot Dog), were large and tasted great. Is this a helpful review? What Noëlle Uysal doesn't like about Zihlmann:
Arrived on a very busy evening so service was very slow. The special roti was delicious with bacon onions and cheese. The Cordon bleu was dry and over cooked but the vegetables provided as a side were wonderful. Overall meal ok. They also tried to overcharge with a bottle of water we did not order.

We've been coming to Wirtshaus Zihlmann for years, always super friendly staff, funny, open to every guest. As always, the food is very good and you have to make sure there is a space available. So you can't give us bad criticism. Heike you are awesome
Highly recommended. Friendliness, children welcome and very good food. Gladly again, it's worth it...
