Balti Cottage - Birmingham

We have been ordering from this restaurant for a few years now and have always enjoyed their meals. However, last night we ordered a takeaway and were disappointed. The chicken in a watery and tasteless sauce was not up to par, and both curries we ordered tasted the same. When I called to complain, I was informed that there had been a change in management but the chef remained the same. It was suggested that maybe a second chef had prepared the food. This was a letdown as we were looking forward to a special meal for our wedding anniversary.

We decided to get delivery and tried the Meat Saag Aloo Mushroom Balti, which was amazing! Even though we don't usually like spicy food, this dish was quite mild and incredibly delicious. The portion size was generous and we really enjoyed it. The delivery arrived earlier than expected and the person who delivered it was polite and professional. We will definitely be ordering from here again!

Fast and friendly staff who were there whenever we needed anything, and delicious food! The starters were a lovely size, can recommend the onion bhagi’s were amazing, as well as the chicken pakora and chicken tikka!

Although the food was nice, the attitude from staff was anything but. As soon as we arrived we felt as though we were an inconvenience and were meant to felt this way for the whole visit. The food was really lovely, however the general feel of the restaurant was rather unpleasant.

First meal at the cottage since lockdown restrictions. Been enjoying my take away meals in the meantime. Best in strichley five stars !
