Harvester Star City - Birmingham

Experience very enjoyable. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

We have visited other Harvester restaurants near our home and have always received decent customer service. However, yesterday we went to the Star City location during half term with our grandchildren and were greeted by a very rude staff member. The customer service was poor and the staff was not helpful at all. When I expressed my opinion, the staff member became even ruder, which was quite surprising. As a result, we decided to leave and took our business elsewhere. It's your loss!

After watching a movie, we decided to dine at the Harvester. Despite the busy time of year, they were very accommodating and managed to fit us in. We enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal that was excellent value for money. We will definitely be returning.

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered from the evening menu after 5pm. The Nachos were okay, but the portion size was generous. However, the sirloin steak was terrible. I had asked for it to be well done, but even with a very sharp knife, I had difficulty cutting it. When I mentioned this to the friendly waiter, he offered another knife but then realized I already had one and left it at that. I was not offered a replacement steak at that point, and I probably wouldn't have accepted it anyway. After I complained, four staff members on the other side of the partition gathered around a mobile phone, seemingly looking at photos, which was not a good look for the restaurant while customers were unhappy with their meals. The waiter ended up discounting my bill, and most of what I had left to pay was for drinks. I spoke to another staff member who mentioned they could have cooked another steak, but by then it was too late.

We had dinner at this restaurant on Sunday. The place was very quiet, which we appreciated as Star City was very crowded. The very pleasant waitress asked my son where he would like to sit, which was a nice touch. The venue and food were typical Harvester fare - good, fresh, and tasty. However, what really stood out was the excellent customer service we received. Nothing was too much trouble, and we didn't feel rushed. I believe our server was Reece, and he was excellent. Overall, we didn't particularly like Star City, but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here.
