Allegro Fine Foods Inc - Bolton

Memorable evening with excellent food and service far beyond my expectations including our host Tony making us feel at home and at the end of the evening with complimentary grappa and dessert. Could not think of a better way to spend a special birthday with...my family and good friend.

We were turned away by server at 7:30pm because a party came in on the patio so they said they the kitchen must concentrate on them so they are not going to seat anyone else. Unbelieveable for a small bussiness or any bussiness to...turn away customers.

Reading the negative reviews about overcharging for water, being charged extra gratuity, and poor service, I am not surprised. As a Bolton native I have been to this restaurant many times over the past 18 years. In Allegro's early days, the food was very good...and the owner Tony was a reputable man. However, his greed took over. For whatever reason in the recent years, he began to charge for water without asking if we wanted bottled, all of a sudden would never have the typical bottle of wine that we would ask for but instead would give us his most expensive house bottle One time overcharging for wine, water, and specials, then two times, then three times, and then three customers lost. You build a relationship with owners when you become regulars. The blatant abuse of familiarity and trust built with Tony in hindsight is quite infuriating as we never disputed any suspicious charges on our bill in order to avoid tensioin. Especially since we were loyal to Allegro as there are other Italian fine dining restaurants to go to. Anyways, we now go to Casamici that is located in the plaza with Shoppers Drug mart where they produce quality meals, and excellent service.

Was over prised they brought water to the table. we thought it was free, but at the end of the night they have us $65.00 for 10 poeple. they brought us a bill instead of giving us 5 bills for 5 pairs, and we know that it's always fun to split up. would not recommend this place to friends and will not visit again.

We only had our daughter baptism there and couldn't be happier with everything. the personal was absolutely such a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. the food and the service was wonderful and they went beyond and beyond us. we really enjoyed it. our overall experience and will definitely go back. if they really want delicious home cooked Italian cuisine, amazing service and beautiful view, this is the place for them.
