What Celestino Yost doesn't like about Allegro Fine Foods Inc:
The atmosphere is fine. Nothing great but it is clean and tidy. Servers were both very good; friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Most entree specials were $39 (salmon, halibut etc.). Two mid range $ appetizers. Mussels in a very nice tomato sauce. Not big enough to share but tasty. Calamari consisted of 4 pieces of grilled calamari in a spicy tomato sauce. Allegro offers a beautiful deck for drinks and then our large group went indoors to dine. Our server Brandi was attentive, enthusiastic, very friendly and great at her job. The wonderful food came to the table piping hot despite us being a very large group. Some of us tasted each other's meal and were not disappointed.Everything was absolutely delicious. If you want something a little spicy, go for the homemade ravioli... the sauce has a nice kick. The gnocchi was creamy and delicious and it is made fresh every day.The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The owner Tony not only is the chef, he also is an artist. The paintings on the wall are his and if you take a peek under the table cloth, you'll see his beautiful handiwork on the tables.Tony makes a point of coming out to the tables to chat to the customers.Yes it's a little pricey but you're paying for real authentic homemade food that you won't find in the chains. You won't be disappointed.
So sad to say that Allegro has gone downhill in the past few years. The quality of the food was so much better before. Now, it is now worth the price. There are many better Italian restaurants, for the same price (or less). The only reason I have returned is for the patio.
Myself and my husband had dinner at Allegro this past weekend and it was over the top amazing. Excellent customer service. Will definitely be back to try other dishes in the menu.
This was my first time at Allegro Fine Dining. And contrary to some of the reviews I have read from past customers, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Tony Viola is a man of many talents. His cooking is phenominal. I ordered his homemade gnocchi with spinicah, ricotta and I asked for the addition of goat cheese. I absolutely loved them. They were the perfect balance of flour and potato, they were not mushy, they were soft and palatable. The way gnocchi should be. I know because, let's face it, no one makes them better than mom. But I have to say, my mom met her match! Tony also let me try his porcino risotto! It was to die for. And Brandy, our server could not have been more bubbly and charming. I had a very large group gather there last night, and for a small, family run restaurant, they did a really good job at keeping up with our orders. The food arrived warm, we had no complaints.Brandy did not miss a beat. She was on it all night. I will definitely return.

Sauce was too spicy and completely masked the taste of the calamari. Again, not a good sharing portion. Gnocchi entre was obviously made in house and the texture was perfect. Very saucy in a good way. Delicious. Wine menu is very expensive. $150 for two aps, 2 entrees, and the second least expensive bottle of wine. The food was good but not worth the price we paid.
