Stopped in for lunch today, the food was really delicious and the staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Menu was a bit limited but obviously what they do, they do well! Great location on a quiet street with lovely view of the old buildings/tower. Bit on the expensive side (£55 for 3 salads, 1 chips, 2 soft drinks and one glass of wine) however as far as city prices go this is probably comparable. Would definitely r... View all feedback.

Imagine a normal day in May, it is windy, it is sunny, it is rainy ... the weather is changing each 30 minutes. you are walking towards Porte de Cailhau and decide to have a drink in this café. it is almost empty. you take two seats under the large umbrellas, because you dont know when the next short rain will come. the waiter is asking, if you want to eat. you tell him that you will move, if the place is filling up... Three of us stopped for a late lunch, we arrived just before 2pm, it was quite busy and people were still being served so we took a table and admired the view of the old tower gate of Cailloux. Service was rather slow but eventually our order was taken, the server was not very welcoming. I ordered a steak with fries which came in two tiny pieces and was as tough as old shoe leather, my wife had a three cheese salad which she said was okay and our friend had the pork with salad and fries, of which she gave me half because the steak was not good at all. The bread was hard and it looked like it was the last of the pick. Maybe it was because the service was nearing its end but overall I would not recommend this restaurant, pretty poor quality and service.

Restaurant/café sits in a small square not far from the Garonne river. Food not sampled, but did sit down for a Coke and a rest. Seating area nearly deserted on a cool afternoon. Despite this there was a significant wait for a waitress to appear, who took our order whilst clearing bottles and glasses from the next table. She was pleasant enough but reappeared several minutes later, requesting payment. I thought €8 for two Cokes on the dear side. There is a decent view of one the old gates into the city, nicely preserved, though the walls to one side are no longer there.
Great coffee. I was well received for lunch with sausage, paste and a good rim glass.
A good restaurant with a very good reception, servers present and listened, good pieces of meat with correct prices only we find some expensive salads, it will be the only negative point. I recommend
