the wine flight was the only good thing despite the self-perception of a French high-end restaurant, the food tasting was terrible. Actually, eating was contaminated or salted excessively. there are much better French options in boston. View all feedback.
Our dining experience at this restaurant was overall pleasant. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings, and each dish was deliciously prepared, with the exception of the main course which had a strange burnt fat taste that we did not enjoy. Despite this, we appreciated the effort put into the rest of the meal. We were also taken aback by the reception we received from the lady welcoming us at the front, as she made us feel slightly uncomfortable with her stare. These factors led to our rating of 3 stars. It is worth mentioning that the tasting menu with wine pairings came to approximately $800 including tips.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The dishes were all delicious and the service was impeccable. Our server was very knowledgeable and suggested exactly what we were looking for. He was also very funny, which made for a pleasant dining experience. While the prices were a bit high, it was definitely worth it for the quality of the food and service.
This restaurant was perfect for our anniversary. The food was exceptional and the service was so efficient and attentive that we were blown away! The prix fix is a great option and I added the lamb from the tasting menu. The food was so good one dish wasbetter than the next. This is an ideal spot for a special occasion!
This was the best meal I've ever had! The dining experience was absolutely incredible. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I was traveling solo from Texas and this restaurant was conveniently located across from my hotel. I believe this place is perfect for sharing with someone special. I opted for the chef's tasting menu and highly recommend being open to trying something new. The foie gras torchon was amazing! You will not regret dining here - it is worth every penny!
Wonderful high end dining experience in the Seaport neighborhood ! We came for my wife's birthday, and the staff were very detail oriented printing a happy birthday message on the menu, and wishing her as we walked in. All this was in addition toaccounting for our dietary restrictions. Our waiter was also extremely attentive, friendly, and willing to answer questionsabout the wines and food items that came along. We ended up doing the chef's tasting menu wine pairing to get a full pictureof Menton's cullinary depth. While some of the dishes were not excellent, the entire experience was memorable. Keep in mind thatthis menu changes everyday. The bread pairings were intermittent, but a good way to just clear one's taste buds for the coursesthat came afterward. 1. Meringue light and good start to the meal. 2. Surf Clam Also light and had a tinge of bitterness;went well with the pairing 3. Smoked Mussel Easily the best pairing of the night, and very creatively presented. 4. Foie GrasTorchon Was not the best we have had. The biscuits that accompanied were more highlighted in taste, which says something aboutthe foie gras. Good wine pairing. 5. Stuffed Pappardelle Well presented, but I felt it was slightly oily. Good wine pairing 6.Squid Crudo was presented well here and tasted good. Wine pairing was a bit odd (did not have a great aftertaste) but the dishmade up for it. 7. Lobster Excellent presentation and taste. Went very well with the wine pairing. The sauce was so wellbalanced to make it still seem it was a light dish in the middle of a chef's tasting. 8. Lamb Heavier in the context of themeal, but worth the wait. Wine pairing was the second best out of the entire meal, providing depth with the dish. 9. Dessert Sorbet was first, which was excellent. The grapefruit was something I did not expect to go that well, but it was very richwithout being heavy. The Nougat, which came afterwards, was also fresh, and paired well with the ice
