This restaurant is a hidden gem in Boston/New England that is not frequented by tourists. Dining with a group of five, everyone was pleased with their meal. The food and service were excellent. This will definitely be one of my go-to spots when I am in town. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Summer Shack:
Delicious appetizers and oysters. We ordered lobster mac for $34 and received boxed shell pasta and 5 pieces of lobster. DO NOT order this item- or any pasta. Portion sizes are for children but adult price View all feedback.
We were exploring the Prudential area and stumbled upon Summer Shack, which had good reviews on TripAdvisor. The staff was very friendly and we sat in the bar area where the bartenders were funny and attentive. Summer Shack offers 7-8 types of fresh local oysters daily, with the sharpshooter and South Bay Blonde being the bartenders' favorites. We opted for a light meal, trying the cornbread with molasses butter, crab cakes, and mushroom dish. The crab cakes were excellent, the chowder was very good, and the cornbread was okay - although we have high expectations for cornbread being from the South. We were too full to try the interesting desserts, such as the strawberry rhubarb pie, blueberry pie, and brownie sundae. Overall, we had a great experience with a fun atmosphere and wonderful service.

The fresh oysters were delicious, and I really enjoyed the crabcake as well. I have been a fan of Jasper White's Summer Shack for a while now. Thank you!
Happened into Summer Shack as it was close to my hotel. I couldn’t have felt more welcome. To my good fortune I came in on a Tuesday night, oysters are a dollar apiece. The bartender, Jorge, suggested I try all seven varieties they have that night. They were all delicious . For dinner he also recommended the Moqueca Brazillian Fisherman's Stew. What a fantastic recommendation! Full of plump muscles, large shrimp and lots of fish. The broth was tasty and the rice flavorful. Thank you Jorge! Service was excellent! No room for dessert. Definitely coming back!
We had a group of about 20 so they gave us a limited choice menu. But it had a nice variety on it, and everyone found something they liked. Food was tasty and our host was helpful and friendly. An enjoyable evening!
