Good food. Nice place. They have a rather limited menu of around six choices. I can’t say that I loved the food but it was good enough. I did like the chocolate desert. Oh and I do have to say that they have an extensive selection of whisky and (amazingly) gin. But I have to say that $36 for a nip of Yellow Spot is (pretty) outrageous. Same price (and same comment) for some of their single malt selections. They don’t... View all feedback.
What Diane Murray doesn't like about The Brewster Fish House:
Too bad. Lovely atmosphere, but awful service and overpriced food. We received our appetizer and $14 pitiful salad in reasonable time, but then waited an hour more for our main course. Given that they offer a limited menu this becomes even more absurd. The waitress did not come back to the table during that time but when I finally went to the bar to get my own drink she was immediately in my face. I asked her what wa... View all feedback.
We knew we were in for a good meal when we saw the parking lot was full and there was a wait to be seated at the restaurant. The hostess mentioned it would be an hour wait, but we were actually seated in about 30 minutes. While we waited, I grabbed our first round of drinks at the bar. Once seated, we quickly perused the menu and decided on a half dozen oysters and calamari to start. Both dishes were tasty. I opted for the seared tuna, while my wife went with the steak and frites, both of which were delicious. We were too full for dessert. Our server was attentive and the dining area, though small, was cozy and comfortable. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience to cap off our last evening in Cape Cod.
I wish I could give the Brewster Fish House an extra half star for the quality of their food because 4 stars just doesn't seem adequate for this cozy and delightful restaurant. I have visited a few times and would come more frequently if it was easier to get a table. The fact that I continue to return is a testament to how much I enjoy it. On my most recent visit, I tried the lobster cavatappi with peas. The flavor was fantastic, although I do wish the portion had been larger and the price lower. At $46, it was a bit expensive. We also enjoyed the striped bass with cannellini beans and broccoli rabe, which was also delicious. I will definitely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later!
The decor appears outdated, with fake antique lighting from Home Depot and painted floors that would have been better if left with a simple, natural finish.
I have never had a better Lobster Bisque! If you are near this restaurant, you must stop by. The interior is absolutely charming!
We tried a variety of dishes and they were all delicious. The drinks and chowder were outstanding!
