Contribute Feedback What Alana Huel doesn't like about Suncrop Seafood Restaurant:
Yum Cha Review: While we were willing to give this place a chance, unfortunately, the food was simply not fresh. During our last visit two weeks ago, we ordered the mixed shark fin dumplings and found them to be of poor quality. One of the dumplings was half-eaten and we had to ask a worker to take it away. We ate at this restaurant under it's previous name of Oriental Yum Cha and have been meaning to try it again since it changed ownership. We went with some friends and opted for the all-you-can-eat buffet which is good value if you are hungry. (Note that you get a 10% discount for paying cash.) There was a good selection of dumplings and pastries and they were of reasonable quality and flavour. The sweet items were good - egg tarts, mango pancakes and taufu fah (sweet tofu pudding). You can order items that do not appear on the dim sum trolleys directly from the staff but the service is just a little haphazard - perhaps the staff are too busy. The bathrooms are not that bad - the toilet cubicles were clean but perhaps the sink area in the ladies needs to be re tiled. The restaurant it quite modern and doesn't have the same noisy, buzzy atmosphere as the traditional yum cha restaurants.

During our last visit two weeks ago, we ordered the mixed shark fin dumplings and found them to be of poor quality. One of the dumplings was half-eaten and we had to ask a worker to take it away. The female manager made a comment in Mandarin to the employee, implying that we should not have complained. The pork ribs also tasted off, as if they were past their expiry date. We felt pressured to eat it because of the manager's attitude. The service during the all-you-can-eat meal was lacking, as they seemed hesitant to bring more food once we had finished too many dishes. We suggest they focus on serving fresh food at Enjoy Inn Portside.
The yamcha at this restaurant may not be the best, but it is still enjoyable. The all you can eat yumcha option is worth the money, especially if you pay in cash for good service. I once saw Craig Foster dining there, a host of the SBS FIFA live stream, which was pretty cool.
We dined at this restaurant when it was previously known as Oriental Yum Cha and have been wanting to try it again since it underwent new ownership.
The service was very disorganised and slowFood was below average as quality of the ingredients used was below standard.
