Since they moved and "modernized, I am not as happy as I used to be as when it was close to TV Channel 7. They always had a stuffed cow at the door, in later years somewhat motheaten, but the meat and fries (no sausages and offal for me - cholesterol problem) are still top notch. Worth a visit for old times's sake! View all feedback.
I like it so much. I have been in many restaurants in Buenos Aires and I like to write a comment on it because is different. Is a very local place out of the touristic books. Good PARILLA , I love that word!!!!

La Raya is an old classic Buenos Aires restaurant featuring typical Argentinian food, served in simple style, silver platters. The waiter, Jose, had worked there for 28 years and was very directive in our ordering, which in the end was helpful although surprising during the ordering. We would start to order a wine or entrée and Jose would say, "No, order this instead". He was great and fun, but completely classic old school waiter. We ordered the salad, grilled sweetbreads, then the grilled lamb and beef intestines, then the beef short ribs. All were cooked perfectly, plain and simple, but expertly prepared. No frills presentation, just good food. We had chocolate mousse and Dulce de Leche crepes for dessert. Highly recommended.
Make a reservation for that special evening! creative varied offerings than the traditional family steak house that is so prevalent around town, with a really nice variation upgrade to what Argentina does so well...meat of course. But, really good options for the...non meat eater also! And, real vegetables too!
