Carre bleu - Cagnes-sur-Mer

We have been coming to Carre Bleu for three years or so. It is a nice and convenient beach club with nearby parking. Even having been coming here a lot no staff member (who mostly have been here a while) ever recognise or greet you. I understand that. They must have millions of customers throughout the season. But this year the service has dropped to almost nonexistent. If you book a longer no staff member helps with the umbrella and you are left to try and ram it into the gravel yourself. Then, having battled with that mission and built up a decent thirst, you are left alone, ignored by every waiter whilst you are desperately in need of that cold beer. More than 30 minutes of waving before anyone comes. Then a waiter comes who half takes the order and doesn’t remember you asked for the menu. We’re it busy I would almost understand but as it is less than 30% full I am disappointed as to what is happening. It was great. My favourite beach place in Cagnes. Maybe it’s time to move on?

The pizza the children had was good, my wife ordered mussels with salad but it came with fries instead. The real problem was my burger which came out raw and still cold in the middle. The waiter took it back and returned with another that was cooked explaining the chef served the wrong one. Seems inexcusable as I had taken a bite before noticing and hope I don’t get ill. The cooked burger was not very nice for the price.

My husband and I spent my birthday here.The sunbeds are comfortable and the view is lovely. The pebbles make it hard to get into the sea gracefully (or that might just be me!! The interior has clean toilet facilities and the restaurant is well furnished has great sea views. Service in the restaurant was good. My fish was not cooked in the middle but they did change it and replace it with some that was. Overall, we had a relaxing, enjoyable day here.

Before going there we had no idea we could get everything we needed!... Very nice welcoming team (lead by Assa, smiling and warm), great waiters and super nice guys managing the beach. We stayed 2 weeks, coming nearly every day and enjoying the first rank of beach deck chairs, having the sea literally licking our feet... and lunchtime, we had wonderful salads, pasta or sea fruits... in the aircon restaurant with white and blue fresh colors. An amazing experience with great people!... if you have to choose one beach, go there!!

Ate here 3 times on holiday. Seafood excellent. Beautiful views over the bay and staff v helpful. One issue about the drinks insisting we had more than we had. Difficult to explain that we hadn't and staff a little heated with us
