Saturday night in down-town Cairns. Seven of us tumbled into Limmy Malaysian having been touring the area in a stretched limo. The staff welcomed us with broad smiles (and that really makes a difference in any establishment and set the tone for a very enjoyable repast). i cannot believe that the restaurant has no idea about malaysian food yet they advertise . We ordered 3 dishes and all were not malaysian as stated. prawn sambal is a hot spicy dish but we got prawns with something but not a sambal. It is no point we describing all the dishes because the chef there is not a chef. I see many chinese tourist going there and i guess the chinese food may be good. This is a common problem... This is a common problem with cairns were restaurants try and do mix theme foods it just does not work because every thing is completely dfferent. indian spices and indian spices have very little in common. I good malaysian restaurant is a restaurant were indians, malaysians and chinese have created this unique food.
A party of 13 of us visited this restaurant for lunch on Saturday, 8th July. We have been there once before and a lot of our group were clamouring to return! The menu is huge, the servings are huge and the prices very good. The food is excellent and very tasty. Our only complaints were: one of our party did not receive her appetiser and two others did not receive their main meals, all three items were overlooked by the kitchen. Nothing like this happened the first time we visited. The restaurant is not unattractive, not being decorated in the usual way of Asian restaurants, but it's acceptable. The food more than makes up for the decor! We will be visiting again. Our members recommend the crispy skin duck, nasi goreng, sweet & sour chicken and the combination laksa. Actually, it's all great. We are giving the service a rating of four stars only because the service was not up to scratch, with three dishes being overlooked.

Limmy's has been around for years! We used to dine there with some regularity but noticed quite a jump in prices. We now consider it a bit overpriced
Enjoyed a fantastic meal at Limmy's. It was our favourite meal on our 8 day trip to Cairns. Very friendly staff
