Ocean View Fish & Chips - Cairns

The fish and chips at this restaurant are truly delicious. They offer outdoor seating where customers can enjoy the view and people-watch as they eat.

Yes, the restaurant is inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. We ordered $4 worth of chips and received a large portion, but they were overly greasy, overcooked, and had a weird taste. My partner and I had barely started eating when we decided to leave. When asked if we wanted a banana or pineapple, we declined, but they didn't apologize or offer an explanation. The server was quite rude when we inquired about it. I would not recommend this place.

The restaurant is overpriced, and the portion size of a $10 fish and chips was not enough for two adults. The pieces of fish were small given the high cost. Additionally, the wait time for the meal was 40 minutes.

$8.50 for fish and chips sounds like a big bargain. there is a reason for this price! the chips are of chips, tasteless and boring. the fish was a small piece of teig with what looked like white mushy paste inside! Curry sauce was a gelled. consistency and the muddy heaps were very dry and bland. the waitress catherine was very friendly and polite, but the woman I was suspected was the man speaking to her so rudely before us that we felt very awkward to be there, hardly as customers should be made?! Moreover, the table we sat on was dirty and when catherine bought our food, the other woman followed her practically apologised about the condition of the heirs and the heavy. if they know that it is so bad, maybe change what they serve! I'd never eat anything here again. the sign above the theke claims to be "best fish and chips in cairns!" they cannot be fooled by it. this is the first bad review I wrote, but it is really deserved!

Delicious fish and chips for just about $8.50, super cheap compared to around expensive restaurant. I've also had breakie there, 2 eggs, bacon, tomato and toast, including orange juice (you can have coffee or tea instead) for only $8.50. It's the best bacon I've ever...had (not too oily and salty). A really nice place to enjoy your morning or afternoon!!!
