Well rounded little cafe off Sheridan St. Almost looks outta place seeing the shops around it. Heard rave reviews about the coffee, and boy I wasn't let down. Decor is cool and hip and the barista had a huge moustache. Brought me back to the 80s. Ordered take away wrap, both were reasonably priced and real easy on the palette. Top notch guys count me in a a new regular. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Smith Street Cafe:
I love my coffee, quality and flavour is important to me. Unfortunately I got neither at Smith Street Cafe. The larger cafe has a fresh bright airy feel, but staff seemed confused and distracted. Trying to do too many things at once. Batista chatted with customers known to her whilst ignoring others waiting for orders. Full creama milk was not used - my takeaway coffee was poured into cup and left on the counter to g... View all feedback.
This morning we walked on in and we’re met by the most friendly staff and the look of the cafe itself is very welcoming.. we got ourselves the turkey panini and corned beef panini they were so yummy and fresh yes yes yes we will be back thank you
I adore this restaurant. The manager has an amazing memory and is always welcoming. The coffee is delicious. They are environmentally conscious and the food is consistently fresh and unique. The music inside can be a bit loud, so it may not be the ideal spot for a business meeting. Located just outside the city, parking is always convenient.
I am a local and used to frequent this place on my way to work, but after a couple of disappointing visits, I can't understand how this restaurant manages to stay afloat. The manager seems frantic and disorganized, running around like a headless chicken. Despite giving it another chance today, the same chaotic atmosphere persisted. The new server was doing her best, but the loud music at 7am was off-putting and inappropriate for a coffee shop. Overall, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. It's just not for me.
We were met by two people who smiled and welcomed us. Very refreshing these days. We sat outside on a warmish Cairns day and appreciated their food and coffee. The coffee came the way I asked. Even with an extra shot, some other places don 't get my message of strong coffee with a clear taste. Smith St delivers ! One warning it only operates between 7am and 2 pm we missed afternoon cofee there. Though it is not in the usual tourist zone.
An oasis in the desert on Sheridan Street in Cairns. Coffee Is Incredibly good, made by a real barister who understands coffee. Home made protein balls are amazingly good. Not to mention the service by these two lovely young women who took over the business just a few months ago. Every customer is welcomed with open arms and return customers are remembered by their name. This place is truly a home away from home and I wish that we had more places like this.
