We have been regular customers for many years, but last night the service was not up to par as it was in the past. When I made the reservation they asked if this was a special occasion, I said it was the birthday of the 2 women in our party, and nothing was done to celebrate the special occasion. What Rick doesn't like about Murrieta's West Coast Bar & Grill:
Very very noisy. The service was outstanding, bottles of wine was outrageously priced. Food was like warm not warm or hot. 4 people, one had a salad, one had duck, I had a 6oz sirloin, over cooked. 500$ bill. The tip started at 20%!!! Wtf. I added 5.00 for a tip and left the waiter 20$ so he could keep it all. I would not recommend this place unless you like a mortgage payment for a bill and very small portions of co... Would not recommend that the man who met us when we went into was rude and shitty when he said that if we had no reservation, then they could not sit us even though the place was half empty. we came back the next day and said yes, we had a reservation and they sat without asking us for our name. the meal was just okay, I asked for a mojito for a drink and what they brought me was definitely not that. they need a new bartender and new greetings!
As a big party for a private event. the place has an ambiente that brings it back in time. simply amazing and tres chic. our server was very polite and answered all our asking and considered happy all allergies when they take the order. he was also understandable about the wine menu. in relation to food order the green craftsman, which was more than the greens in terms of both quantity (small) and taste (bland.) other on the table ordered the tomato soup, which was definitely better than the greens. the flatiron steak was the 2nd course really cool, but the only option was medium-heavy. the chocolate brew was probably one of the best I ever had and was extremely light. ends up eating all leftover dessert on the table
Beautiful location and great mood! they do not expect such a great place when they go up the stairs. Wednesday Christmas was brilliant with half price weeping and the steak was juicy and tasty. cool food paintings about the walls that was great.
I don't know why the big hype. we had a reservation around 19 o'clock. they had kept us waiting until 7:45. the hostess was so rude. eating was nothing special. who serves tartaric acid with oily and greasy chips instead of baguettes! also look how terrible this pizza looks, it also tastes bad. oh, and they have accused us of the gloomy and the garnel. I only noticed it after our departure. I'm never back.
We came to Murrieta's for a group dinner. This dinner turned into a 5 hour seating. 1 hour to get the bill, rude responses when we asked why the bill was taking so long. To just have the bills to come out wrong and double charged is unacceptable. There was literally 2 other tables total for the whole duration of our dinner.18% gratuity for this service was absolutely not deserved for this service that we recieved. Let's just say we will not be back.Food was fantastic but maybe work on training your staff on how to run your system a little bit better.
