We tried the Roof Terrace for drinks before dinner, and was not disappointed. The staff was friendly, the cocktails were good and the view is absolutely fantastic. View all feedback.
When it comes to rooftop bars, the Varsity offers breathtaking views of Cambridge, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Despite not being very busy, the staff were unfriendly and made us feel like a burden. Additionally, the drinks menu, while extensive, was limited in terms of customization - for example, we couldn't order a Dry Martini Negroni because they don't do "Stir downs." This was quite disappointing, especially considering the hotel has a bar downstairs. Overall, I won't be rushing back to The Varsity anytime soon.
The rooftop bar at The Varsity Hotel lives up to its promise of offering great views of Cambridge and a drinks menu. However, our cocktails were mediocre and seemed diluted. It felt like it catered more to tourists. The staff were friendly but could have been more attentive. By late afternoon, they had run out of most snacks. The cocktails at Six Restaurant on the floor below were actually better, and they still offered a nice view without the outdoor terrace.
The rooftop bar at this restaurant is amazing, offering a fantastic view of the entire city of Cambridge, especially when the sun is out! The cocktails were delicious and the staff were extremely helpful and kind, taking great care of us during our visit. We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to the city!
Had a lovely evening meal and drinks on the rooftop terrace which has some unique and fantastic views over the city, very friendly, great service and fantastic location to explore Cambridge. Parked car at Castle Hill car park which is a short walk from the hotel, will definately stay again.
Awful service, waited ages to be served and was only served when I asked if we could be. The waiter was not very friendly and seemed put out that I was asking for a drink. It was not busy, but there were half a dozen or so members of staff having a little chat behind the bar. Not great. Too expensive for what it was.
