Not sure if they still have the same décor, but go instead for the quality viet meals. Great value and generous portions.

Yes, this place is cheap. The décor is however drab and way back in the 80s (maybe even older). We had one cheerful waitress but another who never uttered a word - she appeared not to be enjoying her work. The food was reasonable and flavoursome and the time to deliver to the table was also very good as we had a hungry toddler. However it is certainly not romantic. We were there on a Sunday night because our regular Vietnamese restaurant is closed Sundays and only 3 of the 20 or so tables were occupied. I would do take-away next time.

Our experience was a little different than other reviewers. The place was empty on a Saturday night at 7pm - though there were other attractions elsewhere in Canberra. We found the food lacking in Vietnamese spices and almost seemed chinese in its basic-ness. Very bland, when we know that Vietnamese food can have its own very interesting spices. We've now tried it several months apart and found it the same, but with low prices. Always appreciated.Seems to attract the regulars, but we will be trying elsewhere.

Saigon is our local Asian and we go there often because service and food are always good, ie you know what you are getting. Occasionally we get takeaway but mostly we prefer to eat in the restaurant. Decor has been the same for years, but somehow that is comforting

We tried this place based on friends' recommendations ... For a family birthday ... We only had three people but we were seated at a table for eight ... The place is very large and very ordinary in decor. Food was quickly served and freshly prepared however the sauces all looked the same .. We were in and out very quickly and yes, it was reasonably priced for both service and food. It's a place that relies on its loyal locals ....
