Local Press Cafe - Canberra

I absolutely love having brunch at this restaurant. The owner always goes out of his way to accommodate seating requests, even when they are very busy (which is most of the time!). The menu offers plenty of vegan options and the staff are delightful. Plus, the view is also quite nice! It's a fantastic place to kick off your day.

I love this restaurant! The food is creative and delicious, with plenty of vegan options and amazing plant-based drinks and desserts. The staff is always friendly, and the location on the waterfront in Kingston is fantastic. The interior of the cafe is also beautifully decorated. The Vegan Crepe and Vegan Tacos are must-tries! The atmosphere is great overall.

When I first walked into Local Press, I was hesitant due to the apparent high socio-economic status of the patrons. They looked like wealthy yacht owners with six-figure salaries, wearing baseball caps and sunglasses, while I felt out of place. As I awkwardly stood at the front counter, a friendly server approached me and offered me a seat to peruse the menu. This server was truly delightful, not kidding. I gratefully accepted the offer and enjoyed a delicious vegan meal at a reasonable price. The beetroot and caraway seed loaf was especially impressive. The staff was exceptional, going above and beyond in their friendliness, even checking if honey was okay in my turmeric soy latte. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere once my initial insecurities were put to rest. It's definitely worth a visit.

Super friendly staff and incredibly fast service. The food was so fresh and tasty I had the Breaky Bowl and an Immunity Booster smoothie and was not disappointed at all. Not a huge amount of vegan options but the few they have are delicious!

We enjoyed sharing two dishes for breakfast, the Springtime Breaky Bowl and Beetroot and Caraway Loaf. We shared the vegan banana bread for dessert which was delicious. Coffee was good too, staff were friendly and it’s a lovely location. We were very pleased to find a place with vegan and gluten free options!
