La Mere Besson - Cannes

Une institution ! Un immanquable ! Très bon rapport qualité prix dans une ville où le pire l'emporte sur le meilleur. Réserver.

Ate here the first time as a boy in 1963, remember how much my parents liked this authentic spot and still have the business card with a pic of la mere herself. I'd stop in every so often when here for work, and the place was always jammed. The specialties were fish, fresh and simple, and frog legs which were always a delight. It's been probably 5 years since I last took the time to reserve a dinner here. And now I'm sorry to report that La Mere Besson closed for good this past winter.

This is a wonderfully quirky restaurant in the centre of Cannes that resembles a Parisienne bistro. The ambience is perfect. The menu is a set price menu including drinks (a different drink with each course) but incorporates a wide choice on each course. I've been going to Cannes more than once a year for 15 years+ and this is one of my favourite restaurants.

Tra tanti ristoranti della zona strapieni questo era stranamente vuoto e abbiamo comunque deciso di tentare la fortuna, poichè non avevamo voglia di girare. a conti fatti il cibo non era male ma...attenzione alla cameriera!!!Non provate a fare domande o a chiedere spiegazioni sui piatti: vi guarderà dall'alto in basso con un sorriso satanico, si farà gioco di voi, vi risponderà sempre con aria di superiorità è in malo modo. Come è possibile che un ristorante abbia una cameriera tanto scortese? Peggio per loro, il servizio è importante e rimarranno vuoti.

J'adore ce restaurant, lorsque je peux passer y manger je suis ravi produit frais personnel au top et les patrons d'une grande générosité c'est propre rien à cacher sans etre aseptisé il y a des bonnes ondes
