Wong's Cafe - Canora

I called in and ordered a special combination. They told me 20 minutes, and 20 minutes later I showed up and no food. They started cooking it when I got there. Then it took another 20 minutes. Quality and service has gone waaaaay down hill since the new owners took over. Dont bother unless you're having the buffet.

I grew up in Canora, and this place has been around forever, the recent owners retired, but that hasnt stopped the new owners and food has stayed the same. They have a menu, plus a small smorg during the week, which i have always gone for, i like the hot ginger pork, but theres a few choices on there. Oh if you like burgers, they have a home made patty with bacon and a mound of fries that bury the plate, ive seen others order it, and its a challenge to eat, everything is made to order, its all kept hot and fresh on the buffet,made in small batches, lunch times get pretty busy,food goes quick, arrive early! The locals come every day, and stay, its old, and really needs updating, bit i think if that happened, it wouldnt be the same, so why mess with it. This is a small community,and places like this hold it all together.

Wongs had always been a favourite of mine. I have never been to this establishment and had a bad meal. I would suggest anyone to go here. You get huge portions for a good price. I would suggest getting the special combination.

Good quality Chinese for a small prairie town. Portions are HUGE and flavors are standard. Only 1 combination plate to choose from but the kitchen was agreeable to some minor substitutions. A popular place, especially for take out.

A local restaurant that serves good food for a decent price. The staff are friendly and it is a place the locals eat at.
