Deja Bu - Caraquet

Day 10 of a road trip with 2 adult sons and really really wanted a treat. Deja Bu was the food and drink spa we needed! The food, from the amuse bouche fish cakes, to the appetizers (the french onion soup was deep dark and complex, the chowder was filled with just-done tender treats), mains (we ordered the Halibut with coconut saffron sauce, fork tender steak, and duck) were all top notch. The wine pairings were also perfect. I can't say enough. But I will say more! The service was superb - our waiter Pierre knew every detail of the dishes (a trained chef himself) and the sommelier/owner/designer Robert was a delight to chat with. If you want to treat yourself, you must dine here!

Délicieux. Très beau restaurant, propre, et cuisine ouverte. Mes favoris: grilled cheese au homard; soupe à l'onion (la meilleure au MONDE) et steak.

I've eaten at this restaurant before. The food is great and there is an excellent waterfront view. However, be prepared to spend some money. The first time I ate there, I was with some colleagues and dinner went well.The second time, I was with my husband, we were sitting at the bar and you could cut the tension with a knife between the staff and the owner!The third time...did not even happen! We're not from Caraquet so I had made reservations for 2 at 6pm and when we arrived, the doors were locked. I called restaurant to find out what was up, the person at the end said that they weren't expecting anyone until 7pm (the website clearly says open at 5:50pm). The person made no attempt at apologizing for this inconvenience or reschedualling and made it sound like it was my fault! So my husband and I had a lovely sushi dinner (at a very reasonable price!) not far from Déjà Bu! No more Déjà Bu for us!

Les assiette son minuscule et personnellement je n'est pas aimer la présentation N’allez pas là si vous êtes habitués à des restaurants avec un bon rapport qualité prix ...La bouffe et passable et le Vin est trés ordinaire avec un prix exorbitant... L'ambiance et ordinaire et le sommelier vous aller le voir seulement si vous prenait les vin les plus dispendieux et souvent on a pas le droit a un tous petit sourire alors pour tous c'est raison non sa ne valait pas le 300$ absolument pas...... Les frite son vraiment pas bonne ....

Their menu is very different from other restaurants and the ingredients are of very good quality. The ambiance is great, even taking into consideration that the decor is a bit retro.
